Three birthdates open the way for reflection on the twentieth century. From Che Guevara to Captain America, from the Beatles to the United Nations, from Gandhi to Quentin Tarantino, from actors to the public, they all come together to forge universal laws, collaborate on conflicts of interest, manipulate masses, falsify signatures and other evil plans. Crouching in a trench or sitting at a United Nations conference, the subject remains: Democracy.
Articulating the political and historical reflection, the dramaturgical proposal of Parliament Elephant was the winner of the much sought after first edition of Amélia Rey Colaço (2018), created to promote the renewal of Portuguese theatrical creation, in an alliance built between the National Theater D. Maria II, the Vila-Flor Cultural Center, Espaço do Tempo and, in the 2019 edition, also the Viriato Theater.

Três datas de nascimento abrem caminho a uma reflexão sobre o século XX. De Che Guevara ao Capitão América, dos Beatles aos United Nations, de Gandhi a Quentin Tarantino, dos atores ao público, todos se reúnem para forjar leis universais, colaborar em conflitos de interesse, manipular massas, falsificar assinaturas e outros planos maléficos. Agachados numa trincheira ou sentados numa conferência das Nações Unidas, o assunto mantém-se: Democracia.

Articulando a reflexão política e histórica, a proposta dramatúrgica de Parlamento Elefante foi a vencedora da muito concorrida primeira edição da Bolsa Amélia Rey Colaço (2018), criada com o objetivo de promover a renovação da criação teatral portuguesa, numa aliança construída entre o Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, o Centro Cultural Vila-Flor, O Espaço do Tempo e, na edição de 2019, também o Teatro Viriato.
